Next up for Obsession: Katayoun

We’re excited to announce the next guest in our Obsession series. Katayoun is a collector, DJ and radio host based in Amsterdam. Her sets move fluidly between upbeat, sensual and transcendental. Rooted in close listening and shaped by a deep love for Iranian music, her selections are rich, imaginative and always full of feeling.

With an expansive archive of vinyl, cassettes and CDs, Katayoun’s work explores the musical heritage of pre-1979 Iran and the sounds of the Iranian diaspora, including the Tehrangeles scene from the 80s onward. Her long-term feminist approach to archiving connects region-specific genres and eras through shared rhythms and emotion.

She’ll be behind the decks at CUE on Wednesday February 18 for a deep and reflective silent listening session.
